I’ve been posing this question quite a bit to friends lately before I even got this book - “have you ever thought about moving and starting over/fresh?” I’ve learned this lesson to some degree, and yet I still ask the question. There’s something about “starting over” that draws us, as if the physical location or situation is what’s causing hurts, struggles, lack of (name that thing, maybe community?). Maybe it is (and if it is, change it!), but what if it’s not and is really just baggage I keep lugging around? Do I have the courage to stay and be right.here.? Am I going to do the hard thing and unpack what needs to be worked on to change? Maybe it’s changing my attitude/view/thoughts/actions. Maybe it’s pulling out old things and getting a rid of them!! Unpacking has literally and figuratively been my current state the last few weeks!!
“I think that’s what I struggle with the most. It’s hard to be “here” when there are a million little things pushing us to be somewhere else. We always want to be hustling toward “the next big thing”. @hannahbrencher #comematterhere •

This boomerang is pretty quick, but do you see those underlined sections!? There’s just so much that’s ringing true + speaking truth to my heart in these first 4 chapters!! I wanted to wait to read the whole book before I fully endorsed it, but I can’t wait!! I hope you don’t either, and preorder your copy!! More to come once I’ve finished reading the whole book!!
The mothers in this pic are pretty great! (The fact that they’re related to me isn’t the only reason I say this!) They all have great strengths and a few weaknesses, but all bring something unique to this world! They mother and lead their families in very different ways, but one thing that they have in common is that they love fiercely!! I’m so thankful for their example (up close and personal) that I hope to learn from and live out one day!! I especially love the one in the back right, that I have the honor of calling Mom!! (Mostly because she puts up with my shenanigans, attitudes, and is my biggest cheerleader 😏) 💕 Happy Mother’s Day!!
